Holiday card swap

This year i had the pleasure to part of a holiday card swap that Brooklyn Bride hosted. The minute i saw this on her blog, it was right up my alley. All the names of the interested participants (designers or not) were collected and emailed in groups. So i received 5 names of people to design and send a card to, and i’ll receive the same. I have already received 2! So fun to get cards and not bills or junk mail. I did photograph what i designed, but i don’t want to post yet just incase they are reading my blog. I will say though, it included thick vellum, a heat embosser, ribbon, a very complicated envelope template that i designed with kraft paper and of course… dum, dum, dum… the 25 year old sewing machine that i lost a battle with. Crap. So only one lucky person that i had to send to got the sewn inner envelope. I probably would have kept trying to make the whole thing work, except i used up 2 bobbins of thread, poked myself and nearly cried trying to get this darn thing to work. You see, i don’t really sew. I have always wanted to and was very intrigued by it, but i just never got it. So i’ll stick to the computer and have someone help me next year if i decided that i’m going to go completely overboard with a design. (which i love by the way).
Here are the 2 i have received so far:
{ from Laci }
{ from Brooklyn Bride } I love the photograph and the kraft envelope too!
