Lift ticket inspired save the date

6

I have been so excited to share this save the date design with you all! When i met Lindsay and Carrick and realized how much skiing is a part of their life, i knew i wanted to incorporate it into their save the date design. While their wedding is in May, in the nice spring/summer weather, they were engaged in Vail, Colorado. Carrick had been in touch with the ski resort out there and had special signs made for Lindsay directing her down trails so he could propose to her! The story is so sweet and that really made me want to incorporate skiing somehow. Their wedding will be uber formal, but they really wanted something playful and representative of their personalities for the save the dates. After some brainstorming and sketching i presented the idea of a lift ticket to them! They loved it and so the designing began.

Here is the final product!

The actual save the date has a metal component that i was able to source from a ski resort and is printed as thermography. The save the date also has a small magnet tucked in there so her guests can hang them on the fridge if they choose to.

The save the date is then slipped into a fun enclosure and wa-la – in the mail they go!

I absolutely love this – beautiful work! How did the mailing work with the metal wickets? Did you do anything to prevent the envelopes from getting mangled in the mail or the metal wickets leaving big imprints in the envelopes?
