Wine Country

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a marvelous day.
As I am reorganizing the studio, and getting ready to start work on the new website, when i realized i had never posted some designs. I wanted to share, since they are some of my favorites! So you will be seeing some new designs, some of which are the inspiration behind the new ‘ready to order’ line.
This one i designed for Allison and Jeff. They love, love, love wine. They got engaged at a winery, so we decided to incorporate that into their invitations. Letterpressed onto ecru paper, I used a wine bottle label as my main piece of inspiration. Enjoy!

Intern wanted

Good {snowy} morning for anyone that is experiencing this tremendous storm! I have to say, there is something pretty about sitting in my studio, looking out the window and enjoying it while it falls. Driving in it is another story though. I hope everyone got safely to their destination this morning if you were out and about.
I also wanted to announce that we are looking for a new intern for the spring! We hosted Nicole last semester and she was just a joy to have here at the studio. She has since left to study in London this coming semester. So, if you are someone you know might be interested, send them my way! Email the studio if interested.

Simple elegance

Hi all! To round out 2010, i wanted to share an invitation from the infamous date of 10/10/10. I absolutely adored working with Laura and had so much fun with all the details of her wedding! The invitation inspiration came from her details consisting of a simply elegant affair at the Lake George Club. Using a combination of the rustic details, mixed with gold and silver accents and all of the detail that the club has to offer – we choose to use lots of flourishes and antique inspired details. The final design was layers of lettepressed gold and blush inks onto thick cotton paper and finished off with gold calligraphy on the outer envelopes. All of the pieces were held together with a complimentary blush colored paper with blind debossed names and their wedding date.
A sweet note

There is simply nothing like a personalized letterpress note to send a sweet hello to loved ones! I love the look of this final design, with the strip of navy blue knocked out to white, it forces the white name to become raised and gives an embossed look! The final results are so sweet.
A Grand Event

Good morning!
I have been anxious to share this project with you. I think it was completed in record time and was an utter whirlwind, but so much fun along the way! Remember the invitation i designed for an event last week? As the event quickly approached, i was asked to design a program for the 1,200 guests that would be attending a holiday concert in honor of Samuel Heffner. However, this was to be no ordinary program. In talking with my amazing contacts at RPI, they wanted to incorporate the fact that he designed the Heffner Alumni House. What better way to do that, then to use a custom die-cut of the outline of the building and illustrate the detailing of the windows? The challenge was fun and exciting and after adding some wreaths and holiday topiaries, it was all set! On the inside of the program was a pocket that held a sweet package of (3) 6″ square programs for the evening. The design was a hit, and i was so honored to be part of such a special event. I’ll have to share some additional photos from the evening when they are back from the photographers. The design on the invitation was used throughout the building, where no detail was forgotten! Kudos to the staff at RPI for putting on such an event!
