Simplify wedding planning Google Docs

One of the hardest parts of planning our wedding was the budget. I am the visual person. When it comes to your wedding day, the reasoning is “you only get married once!” My husband did not necessarily agree with me on my way of “budgeting.”

Along with Style Me Pretty, Google Docs recently launched 20 individual Google Doc templates geared towards brides and planning for the big day! Not only can you keep track of your guest list, but you will be able to track your budget and every last detail all in one spot!

So, go ahead and check out all the options here. You will notice a range of Google Docs that are helpful in other aspects of your life too, in addition to wedding planning.

New York Wedding Boutique: Part 1

It has been 2 weeks since the official launch of the New York Wedding Boutique! It has been a great couple of weeks, the buzz is in the air, the ideas are swirling, the meetings are plenty and meeting new friends has been amazing! The website is still having tweaks made and we are prepping our first blog posts, which is going to be so exciting! Various vendors will take part to talk about trends, ideas and inspirations.

I wanted to share the invitation that I designed to send out to everyone that was invited to the party. We talked about what we wanted and we decided that we wanted everyone to be totally surprised with the new logo, website and the entire concept. So, in designing the invite i went in the opposite direction to add that element of surprise. Each “ticket” was numbered and had a tear-off at the end. Metallic gold paper was used and the ink was raised to add a fabulous texture. Each invitation was then inserted into a thick, metallic black envelope and held shut with satin ribbon! I was thrilled with the outcome.

Photos were shot by Jp Elario. The next set of photos i’ll share will be from the party including lots of amazing decor, fun photo booth photos and yummy food!

Presenting: New York Wedding Boutique!

Posting a tad late today because i’m still relishing in the excitement and late night after a new endeavor was launched last evening! The past couple of weekly wrap-ups, i have talked about a secret that i have been keeping, a logo i have been designing and how busy i have been preparing for an “event”. Well, the event happened last night!

The Pink Orange, Joe from Joe Elario Photography, Katie from Katie O’ Wedding and Events,  Kris Ann from Fleurtacious Designs, and Luke Walker and Alisha Clark of Clark + Walker Studio pulled together to form the newest, and most amazing group of elite wedding professionals in the Capital District!

I am just so excited, giddy and excited to share this with you all, especially all of the brides out there looking for amazing vendors in the area. The launch party was absolutely fabulous last night, adding a Cinco de Mayo twist to the evening- complete with sangria and a pinata! There were plenty of photos taken, so i’ll be sure to post them once i have copies.
For now, please feel free to check out the new website. There are still some tweaks being made as ADG Communications, the company that developed it for us did an amazing job pulling together the website in literally record time! The blog will be up and running soon, so check back for inspiration, advice and ideas from everyone involved.

I sort of feel like i am singing the Yankee Stadium song as i type that! Yup, a big fan here. Anyway, i wasn’t thinking baseball music when i wrote that, i was thinking of Save the Dates! The past few months are always a big time of year for new engagements. After the fun of being engaged settles in, save the dates must go out!

Save the dates can stay traditional or can take a fun turn and play on the couple’s personalities! I really enjoy designing save the dates which allow something fun from the couple’s history together, the venue or just something they love as a way to express the information. Save the dates don’t have to “match” the invites either!

Here is a save the date for a bar mitzvah. The celebration was themed international and so the save the date illustrated that. However, the invitation was really formal with traditional script fonts and engraved lettering.

Here is another save the date that set the tone for the big day for Alexis and David. I hand illustrated the birds and branches which weren’t used in the invitations, but were used in all other aspects of the wedding stationery such as programs, custom coasters, out of town packages and favors.

As soon as you start announcing your engagement, be prepared to answer all sorts of questions such as “When is the big day”, “Where will the wedding be” and “Where will we stay”? All of these questions can be answered on your save the date. Whether it is a calendar style, a postcard style, or inclusive of a photograph – make it you and don’t be afraid to get creative!
