Pretty Palette
Red, purple and lavender is an amazing color combination. It sure does seem surprising, but it is rich, warm and sophisticated all rolled into one. Add a glimmer of gold and it will finish off the unexpected!
Check out some photos from the most recent issue of Well Wed magazine. The Pink Orange designed the red and purple invitation and place cards that are featured. With a combination of script and sans serif fonts along with an edge of flourish, the finished products were simple and oh so sweet!

Swanky Professional Event in Puerto Rico
The Pink Orange, was asked by the Rincon Ocean Villa to design a invitation & confirmation piece to be sent to an exclusive list of attendees to an event put on by the Villa and Lisa Light of Destination Bride.
The Rincon Ocean Villa is located in Rincon, Puerto Rico- the Town of Beautiful Sunsets, and is home to this Caribbean Paradise. For those who seek an incomparable combination of luxury, seclusion and tropical beauty, Rincon Ocean Villa awaits. Situated in the midst of 3.5 gated acres of lush tropical, along a commanding stretch of golden sand beach, this 14,000 square foot villa offers the perfect escape: an exquisite setting to be enjoyed by you and your invited guests alone.
Rincon Ocean Villa’s romantic and photogenic setting can be an unforgettable locale for your wedding plans. members of the wedding can stay as guests at the villa itself, while Rincon Ocean Villa’s wedding planner contacts can help with all the arrangements, including convenient, top-rate accommodations for the rest of the wedding party at resorts nearby. For the event’s festivities, big or small, the villa’s gathering spaces offer many options; the grand dining or opening onto the home’s expansive terraces.
Most recently, the tennis court was converted into a platform surrounded by tropical foliage which improved the garden-side of the property to have more lush landscape. Brides & grooms are now able to use the entire 3.5 acres of property in addition to the 14,000 sq ft Villa to celebrate their union.

Here are some shots of the invitation that was designed for the 3 day event. Each piece was letterpressed onto turquoise paper, then mounted on a laser print backdrop that represented the doors of the Villa. Each letter was then enclosed into a hand-stitched silk envelope and put into a wrapped box that was lined with sequence sheer fabric!

Well Wed Magazine – Spring/Summer 2009
The Pink Orange had the opportunity to work on an elegant, yet creative and fun invitation design. It was all about incorporating natural, and green materials into the wedding. The letterpressed invite suite was sent in a moss lined wooden box, made from “found” wood. Each box was custom made, and hand stained to bring out the natural wood grain and knots. The box was created with 2 holes in the top, in which gorgeous 2 inch satin ribbon was used to tie the box shut.
The wedding accessories were also natural and reused materials. Each place card was made with recycled paper and a combination of hand calligraphy and twigs adorned the front of each. The table numbers were created using found pieces of birch bark and hand painted numbers with acrylics.
Using natural or recycled resources can be a fun way to add a twist to your day. Think about the textures and patterns that you will be incorporating, and how they can be used later either in your home or office. Most of all, have fun with it!

Oh So Beautiful Paper feature
The Pink Orange was “tickled pink” to say the least when Nole, from Oh So Beautiful Paper asked me to send samples of recent work. Nole has a fondness for all things paper, and so I selected two very different weddings to send to her! Enjoy.

Well Wed Magazine – Fall/Winter 2008
Raspberry, Orange & Brown Evoking warm, crackling fires and autumnĀ“s ardent foliage, while anchored in the soothing tones of wood and earth, this color combination feels opulent yet totally natural. The evocative seasonal palette lends itself perfectly to a farm chic style – think barn wedding – allowing you to incorporate all kinds of readily available local and seasonal elements, from fall leaves to bright orange squashes to vintage wooden serving pieces. —WellWed Magazine
