march desktop
Happy March 1st! I really can’t believe we have reached March already. For those of us living in the northeast, it is always a nice way to start looking forward to Spring. However, with a bit more snow in the forecast this week, i’m not so sure it will be that easy.
I tried yesterday to look forward to spring with some shopping. Lots of florals, stripes, and plaids around. Christopher has to travel to San Franciso this week for work, so we went shopping for him. (well me too). So in trying to help mother nature along with bringing spring in that much quicker, here is a cheery plaid for your desktop!

Have a great week everyone! I have so many fun things to share with you all it is going to be a great week.
project: Valentine’s day treats
I first wanted to thank all of you for your visits to this blog-site. Since I relaunched just a few short months ago, traffic has increased steadily and so have comments both online and off. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you taking a peek into my personal and professional life each day. I enjoy sharing all the goodies with you and look forward to it each day! If you ever have suggestions of what you would like to see or inspirations, please feel free to comment or email from the contact page. Thanks so much everyone!
As I mentioned, my niece Ellie came for the the weekend. We were very busy with art projects galore, but also some cooking projects. One of which was an easy Valentine’s Day treat. Chocolate covered pretzels. Mmmmmm….. After we finished them, I realized how appropriate they could be for favors and gifts for welcome bags as well. So not just for the sweet filled month of February. This didn’t take us long at all. Here is the low-down:

We first picked out all of our sprinkle toppings. We used a toffee crunch, rainbow sprinkles and a V-Day combo of reds, pinks and white. We melted a bag of vanilla chips and semi-sweet chips for one bag of pretzel rods. It was more than enough actually.

After the chocolate was nice and smooth, we rolled the pretzels into the chocolate. Be careful the coating is not too thick, or it just clumps off. Lay out wax paper and after you roll the pretzel in chocolate, roll into your toppings and lay on the wax paper to harden.

After the treats harden, insert into the sleeve (you can buy at most craft stores) and close with decorative string. Out of all of the decorative string and ribbon I own, Ellie picked suede. Yes, suede. How cute is she?
We made the tags to tie onto the treats which you can download here. Print out on 8.5 x 11 heavy weight paper, hole punch the top and wa-LA! You are all set. Enjoy!
february desktop: free download
What a fun, fun weekend! Ellie and I had a total blast filled with art, baking movies and just good ol’ girl time. We made some Valentine’s Day gift tags that will be available this week for download and an inexpensive Valentine’s Day treat to use them for. (Complete with photos of Ellie licking her chocolate fingers and all)! Yes, we both have the most extreme sweet teeth on earth.
So with the official start of February, I thought it was only fitting to start the month off in style with a new desktop. Yes, yes… it is the most romantic month of the year and I’m an absolute hopeless romantic, so there is a ton of pink. However, I did spare the “not-so-romantics” the endless supply of hearts and hugs and kisses. I hope this is the start of a great month so enjoy!

updated calendar
OK guys… so sorry. Perhaps it was the lack of coffee that morning, but when i uploaded the calendar for your January desktop, the days were off. I honestly didn’t realize it until i was trying to coordinate a sleepover date with my 7 year old niece! Yikes!
You can download your new copy here.
New month, new desktop
A new year brings new goodies. New resolutions, new skills. New organization and new clothes. This new year, a new decade! Funny enough, as you actually say the words…”two thousand and ten”, in a world of acronyms, quick talk and text i find it to be quite a mouthful. So i have been saying the new year as “twenty-ten”. I mean, it makes sense right? We use LOL, OMG, WTH, C-U Soon, and so on… so why not just shorten it to twenty-ten?
The other night, Christopher and i were watching the evening news and there was actually a poll on Facebook and Twitter about how people would say this mouthful of a year. It was pretty close. I am still sticking with “twenty-ten”. (Just sounds sassier).

So for the new month and new year, i played off of how i intend to say the year and added it to a quick calendar for your desktop. Get yours here.
holiday tags
Oh boy! All of a sudden, Christmas crept up on me like my cat stalking his toys. I made a to-do list over coffee this morning and i think i need to call in the troops for the amount of stuff i have yet to do. One of which is to finish wrapping and tagging. All of the gifts i have wrapped have post it notes designating who they go to- because yes, what is a gift without a pretty tag? I mean, it is like cake without icing!

So i quickly whipped these up and i’m going to share with you.. all the “last minute Lucy’s” out there! A few different styles, and what would a gift be without Ellie the Christmas bird? Enjoy and get yours here.
Happy December 1st!
So now that it is December and as i type this i can look out my studio window and see flurries, it feels fitting to share a desktop wallpaper i designed last night.

Based on Ellie the bird, she has a special delivery! Feel free to download your copy. I designed it as either 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024.
