Fonts to share!

Helloooo! So sorry for the short absence. I was working hard on an amazing project with some fellow wedding peeps. Clark + Walker Studio, Katie O’ Events and Fleurtacious Designs. While i’m bound to secrecy right now, I can promise that the project won’t disappoint!

In trying to get back on track and prep for the photo shoot here next week of my studio, I wanted to share a few good font finds for you!

I am LOVING the serifs and contrast of the thin/chunky parts of Geotica. Almost reminds me of a modernized Bodoni. That is the only one you have to pay for, however at $16.50 it is a total deal! {kind of like finding a fabulous pair of shoes in the sale section}. Enjoy!

My fonts: Rising Stars

So, from the amount of font posts I share, it is no secret that i enjoy shopping for fonts as much as shoes and clothes. Needless to say, when i receive the email from MyFonts.com each month about their rising stars, I feel the need to share. {and then pull out my debit card}.

Having a sans serif week

Good morning everyone!

I am juggling many, many fun projects this week. It is great and i’m having a blast. However, i noticed as different as they are, they all have one thing in common! A sans serif font! I really love sans serif. Always have and i’m quite certain i always will.

I pulled together a few of my favorites and their sources for you. Enjoy!

Free font download

I’m all buzzed up on 2 cups or organic java right now and jumping up and down with excitement as i start research for a new logo! Through my sketching and brainstorming, i found some fonts to share with you all. Best thing? They are free! Who doesn’t love a little something for free?

All about fonts

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Getting right back into the swing of things, i wanted to share some fun fonts today and a free download. Since it is the beginning of April now, Myfonts.com did a round-up of the up and coming fonts from March. Here are a few of my favorites:

I love how strong and sturdy looking the serifs are from Compass, as well as the ampersands. (You all know how much i love ampersands). The family Coming Together is a great set of glyphs. I love a fun glyph when you want something to contrast a design and add a little “oomph”! Then there is Recherche, a hand writing font with lots of variations on individual letters.

Feel free to see more about these fonts here.

As if those aren’t fun enough, I started working on a cool new project last week. (don’t worry, sneak peak to come) and in my search for a quirky, yet not too goofy font i found Matchbook by One by Four.

You can download your free copy of Matchbook here.

what type are you?

My post last week talked about how much i love fonts. Well take this test from Pentagram and you can see what type best represents you! It only takes a few minutes. (*note: password= character)

So i am Cooper Black Italic. Funny enough, one of my least favorite fonts! However, the description fits me! I have casual curves ( i love “casual curves” must be a nice way to say love handles), I am a happy outgoing person who is happy with life! So…perhaps i should start using it more?

Enjoy the quiz, and what type are you? I would love to hear the responses.

top fonts of 2009

One of my favorite pieces of the designing process is selecting fonts. “Hi, my name is Rebecca and I Love Fonts”! But… as much as i love fonts, i have a firm belief in classic, strong, non-hokey fonts. I’m a girly girl at heart, so i do love a beautiful font with amazing flourishes, or using the font and adding my own.

Last week, i got an email from My Fonts with last year’s top fonts. Take a peek. These are some of my personal favorites (in no particular order). What are yours?
