Mark your calendars!

The New York Wedding Boutique is happy to announce the details of their first meeting. This get-together is open to non-members as well, so definitely take the time to come to the event, meet some other business owners that are in the wedding industry, enjoy lunch, and listen to our great guest speaker!! Hope to see you all there :)

As one of the founders of the New York Wedding Boutique, I can attest to the fact that our goal is for these get-together meetings to be special, and to be helpful for everyone who attends. We devoted a lot of effort into trying to find the person who we thought would bring something to the table that all members could really benefit from. Bring someone to the Capital Region who would generate some buzz and who people would be extremely excited to hear speak. While not all future get-togethers will be able to feature speakers of this caliber, for the 1st ever meeting we’ve confirmed that Claudia Hanlin, the founder of NY’s famous Wedding Library, will take a train up to Troy, NY and meet us at the Franklin Plaza for lunch to discuss business.

Claudia Hanlin is the founder of The Wedding Library, an innovative research boutique for brides and grooms focusing on bringing couples together with the finest of wedding professionals. The Wedding Library is among the most elite full service event planning firms in the nation and additionally represents the portfolios of a curated selection of the finest wedding vendors worldwide. At The Wedding Library, brides can easily get in touch with the most talented, in-demand, and creative wedding professionals, from wedding photographers and bands to florists and caterers. Since founding The Wedding Library, Claudia has become recognized as a wedding industry powerhouse with connections to many of the top players in the industry including Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings, Colin Cowie, Sylvia Weinstock and Vera Wang, all of whom can often be found speaking at The Wedding Library events. With a passion for weddings and events and a keen business sense, Claudia has her finger on the pulse of the wedding world and knows what savvy brides and grooms are looking for in today’s dynamic business climate.

We’ve had to pull some strings to get the insanely busy and in-demand Mrs. Hanlin into our backyard, but she is coming up to speak with our group on September 16th at the Franklin Plaza. We know that we’re all busy this time of year, but we strongly urge you to put this in your schedule in permanent marker and come join us for lunch and listen to this talk. We’ve asked Claudia to base her talk about topics that would be beneficial to our area, but in addition we’ll also have a Q+A session as well if you want to ask her some questions. Claudia has her hand in one of the largest bridesmaid dress retails in Manhattan, one of the largest stationery shops in NYC, and also one of the largest wedding planning businesses in the city. Her diverse experience means her advice is some of the most unique and helpful available to any of us.

While we initially planned on keeping meetings closed for members only, we know this is going to be very popular and in keeping with the NYWB’s goal of bringing local vendors together we’ve decided to open this luncheon to the public. We want the NYWB to continue to the the central hub of what’s hot in Upstate NY, and we think this get-together will cause some local buzz while hopefully bringing everyone together. Entrance will be $35 per person at the door and will include lunch by the Franklin Plaza.

We hope to see you there! If you are interested in attending, please feel free to contact us at wed@nyweddingboutique.com for additional information and to RSVP!

New York Wedding Boutique: Part 2

Good morning and happy Monday! So who stayed up late and watched LOST?

Last week, i posted the invitation that i designed for the launch party for the New York Wedding Boutique. The invitation got everyone excited and as a group of founders, we were even more excited to put our heads together to create a fabulous and memorable Cinco de Mayo party! The party was held at the The Barn at the RPI Tech Park. The space is amazing on its own as a blank canvas. Then, put a handful of creatives together and BAM! you have one heck of a party if i do say so myself. Here are some photos by Jp Elario.

The adorable Karen Trudell of Sweet Perfections donated the yummy truffles that were the favors for the evening (can you say margarita flavored?) and the talented Gio of Gio Culinary created the amazing cake complete with our new logo!

I can’t say enough about the group of founders who I’ve been involved with. Such creatives with 6 different vibes that came together to create a group that is going to do amazing things in the area! I seriously get giddy thinking about it. Here is the group of us, enjoying the photo booth!

{ The founders from left-right: me, Katie O’Malley from Katie O’ Weddings and Events, Alisha Clark and behind her is Luke Walker of Clark + Walker Studio, Kris Ann Elario of Fleurtacious Designs, and JP Elario. }

New York Wedding Boutique: Part 1

It has been 2 weeks since the official launch of the New York Wedding Boutique! It has been a great couple of weeks, the buzz is in the air, the ideas are swirling, the meetings are plenty and meeting new friends has been amazing! The website is still having tweaks made and we are prepping our first blog posts, which is going to be so exciting! Various vendors will take part to talk about trends, ideas and inspirations.

I wanted to share the invitation that I designed to send out to everyone that was invited to the party. We talked about what we wanted and we decided that we wanted everyone to be totally surprised with the new logo, website and the entire concept. So, in designing the invite i went in the opposite direction to add that element of surprise. Each “ticket” was numbered and had a tear-off at the end. Metallic gold paper was used and the ink was raised to add a fabulous texture. Each invitation was then inserted into a thick, metallic black envelope and held shut with satin ribbon! I was thrilled with the outcome.

Photos were shot by Jp Elario. The next set of photos i’ll share will be from the party including lots of amazing decor, fun photo booth photos and yummy food!

Presenting: New York Wedding Boutique!

Posting a tad late today because i’m still relishing in the excitement and late night after a new endeavor was launched last evening! The past couple of weekly wrap-ups, i have talked about a secret that i have been keeping, a logo i have been designing and how busy i have been preparing for an “event”. Well, the event happened last night!

The Pink Orange, Joe from Joe Elario Photography, Katie from Katie O’ Wedding and Events,  Kris Ann from Fleurtacious Designs, and Luke Walker and Alisha Clark of Clark + Walker Studio pulled together to form the newest, and most amazing group of elite wedding professionals in the Capital District!

I am just so excited, giddy and excited to share this with you all, especially all of the brides out there looking for amazing vendors in the area. The launch party was absolutely fabulous last night, adding a Cinco de Mayo twist to the evening- complete with sangria and a pinata! There were plenty of photos taken, so i’ll be sure to post them once i have copies.
For now, please feel free to check out the new website. There are still some tweaks being made as ADG Communications, the company that developed it for us did an amazing job pulling together the website in literally record time! The blog will be up and running soon, so check back for inspiration, advice and ideas from everyone involved.
