designing the olympic “brand”

Posted by rebecca on February 16, 2010 · 2 Comments

As a designer, there are so many processes both big and small that I go through to to reach the end result. Some jobs are bigger than others, but no job goes without research. Whether an invitation for the most elegant and beautiful wedding, or a logo that will express a life coach, or a brochure to talk its readers through company information, each job has one common denominator – research! Some might wonder…”research?” Why yes, research I tell you. In order to achieve the best design for any given assignment, research is part of the process. To me, it is one of my favorite parts. I’m able to dissect the project, the people involved and the objectives.

My friend Christy Ann sent me an interesting article about how the 2010 Olympics were branded. Since we are now a few days into the games, i thought it would be really cool to share with you all. It is quite amazing- and especially for my readers in the non-creative industry, it is both educational and inspirational!
